Outdoor Individual Championships 2026-27
LBTSA has a trophy for an Outdoor Champion (The McLennan Medal) and a handicap equivalent (The Ettrick & Lauderdale Papereweight Trophy). These have been competed for for many years at the NSRA’s Scottish National Meeting, based on its Unsquadded Aggregate. The unique McLennan Medal is one of our oldest trophies.
That NSRA meeting has not been held since 2019 so we have not had Outdoor Champions on that basis since then, but for the last few years we have run it concurrently with the Double Dewar Open Meeting originally run by Alloa & District RC and this year by the Forth & Clyde TSA. It has been decided to continue with that arrangement this year and the meeting will be held over the weekend of 1st/2nd August.
The entry fee is ONLY £5!! There are concurrent Juniors, Seniors and Ladies competitions (free to enter) as well as Teams of 3 (£3) and Club Pairs (£2) . You won’t get much better value anywhere.
Take this link to download an entry form, and this one to download a flyer giving the meeting details, but the form can also be requested from the organiser here.
You can print the form and take it to the meeting to enter on the day, or email it to the organiser at the address in the above link.
Apologies for the short notice, and you are advised not to leave your entry too late as this is a popular meeting.
Notes:
1. These Championships are confined to residents of the LBTSA administrative area (i.e. Edinburgh, the three Lothians, The Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway). There is no fee – all you pay are the entry fees to the meeting.
2. The Scratch Champion for 2026-27 will be any such competitor with the best aggregate regardless of class.
3. The Handicap Champion for 2026-27 will be any such competitor from any class with the best adjusted aggregate depending on class.
