Shoulder-to-Shoulder league – update
For the second year running, the S/S league came down to the wire, with the last match of the season bewteen Hawick and Watsonians deciding the winners. Only a big win for Hawick would see them win the title, but a narrower win or a loss would hand it to their visitors. Hawick did win the match but not by enough for them to take top spot, with Watsonians winning it on aggregate – 142 off to 151 off, having tied on 14 match points each. Only nine gun-points in it: basically just one point per match.
Watsonians won the Matchplay league, a little more convincingly this time, over Hawick again.
UPDATE: In the Handicap league, a software glitch was discovered after the initial results were published that changed Balerno & Currie’s last two matches from losses to wins. Prestonpans still won the league but only on aggregaste after those two teams tied on 10 points each. The software support department gives its apologies.
The top average award goes to Ian Burton (Hawick).
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Greg McMillan for running this league once again.
